Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga
जो लोभ और मोहसे युक्त हो एक दूसरेको खा जानेके लिये उद्यत रहते हैं, वे भी इसी लोकमें आवागमन करते रहते हैं, उत्तरदिशाके उत्कृष्ट लोकमें नहीं जाने पाते हैं ।।
bharadvāja uvāca | ye lobha-mohābhyāṁ yuktā anyonyam khāditum udyatāḥ santi, te ’pi asmin loke punar-āvartante; na tu uttaradiśaḥ utkṛṣṭaṁ lokaṁ gacchanti || ye gurūn paryupāsante niyatā brahmacāriṇaḥ, manasendriyāṇi saṁyamya; panthānaṁ sarva-lokānāṁ vijānanti manīṣiṇaḥ ||
قال بهاردفاجا: «إن الذين قيّدهم الطمع والضلال، وهم على أهبة أن يلتهم بعضهم بعضًا، يظلون يترددون في هذا العالم نفسه؛ فلا يبلغون العالم الرفيع في جهة الشمال. أمّا أولئك البراهماچارين المنضبطون، الذين يكفّون النفس والحواس ويلازمون خدمة المعلّمين بإخلاص—فأولئك الحكماء يعرفون السُّبُل المؤدية إلى جميع العوالم».
