Educational Q&A

This is a colophon marking the close of a chapter whose theme is the examination of the jīva’s true nature through objections (ākṣepa). The implied pedagogical method is dialectical: doubts are raised and addressed to clarify what the self is (and is not) in the pursuit of mokṣa.

The text is not advancing the dialogue here but formally concluding the chapter within the Mokṣadharma portion of Śānti Parva, indicating that the discussion on objections regarding the nature of the living self has reached its end.
