Educational Q&A

Dharma is sustained by right transmission of sacred knowledge: when the Vedas are properly received through a teacher–disciple relationship, disciplined conduct and religious practice can be restored and maintained.

In the Sārasvata episode, the sages regain access to Vedic knowledge through proper instruction; many become disciples, and with the Vedas restored, they resume the observance of dharma.
