Kārttikeya-Abhiṣecana: Mātṛgaṇa-Nāma Saṃkīrtana and Skanda’s Commission

अंशो5प्यनुचरान्‌ पञ्च ददौ स्कन्दाय धीमते । अंशने भी बुद्धिमान्‌ स्कन्दको पाँच अनुचर प्रदान किये, जिनके नाम इस प्रकार हैं-- परिघ, वट, महाबली भीम तथा दहति और दहन। इनमेंसे दहति और दहन बड़े प्रचण्ड तथा बल-पराक्रमकी दृष्टिसे सम्मानित थे ।।

aṁśo 'py anucarān pañca dadau skandāya dhīmate |

قال فايشَمبايانا: «وأمْشا أيضًا منح سكَندا الحكيم خمسةَ خَدَم. وفي هذا الموضع تُقوّي الآلهةُ حاشيةَ سكَندا لعمل إخضاع القوى المعادية—وهي صورةٌ لسلطةٍ مُفوَّضة في خدمة النظام الكوني، حيث تُنظَّم الشدة تحت قيادةٍ مشروعة لا لتُستعمل لمكسبٍ خاص.»
