अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः

नान्यत् कर्मास्ति पापीय: क्षत्रियस्य पलायनात् | “इसलिये अपने बाप-दादोंके द्वारा आचरणमें लाये हुए धर्मका परित्याग न करो। क्षत्रियके लिये युद्ध छोड़कर भागनेसे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई अत्यन्त पापपूर्ण कर्म नहीं है
nānyat karmāsti pāpīyaḥ kṣatriyasya palāyanāt |
قال سنجيا: «ليس للكشاتريا عملٌ أشدُّ إثمًا من الفرار من المعركة. فلا تهجروا دارما الأسلاف التي سار عليها آباؤكم وأجدادكم؛ إن ترك القتال والهرب هو أفدح إخفاقٍ أخلاقي لمن وُلد ليحمي ويقيم النظام.»
