Nārada’s Prelude to Describing the Divine Assemblies
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca
bhavān sañcarate lokān sadā nānāvidhān bahūn |
brahmaṇā nirmitān pūrvaṃ prekṣamāṇo manojavaḥ ||
The verse models dharmic inquiry: a ruler approaches a knower with humility, recognizing the sage’s wider vision of reality (many lokas) and grounding that vision in cosmic order (creation by Brahmā).
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a revered sage, praising his mind-swift ability to roam and observe many Brahmā-created realms, setting up a request for knowledge based on the sage’s extraordinary experience.
