Escalation of Wagers and Shakuni’s Repeated Declarations of Victory

sa rājagṛham āsādya kuberabhavanopamam | abhyāgacchat dharmātmā dharmaputraṁ yudhiṣṭhiram ||

Educational Q&A

Even in times of rivalry and uncertainty, dharma is maintained through proper reception of guests, respectful speech, and sincere inquiry into the welfare of elders and relatives; ethical conduct is not suspended by political conflict.

Vidura arrives at Yudhiṣṭhira’s splendid palace and meets him; Yudhiṣṭhira honors Vidura appropriately and asks about the well-being of Dhṛtarāṣṭra and his sons, reflecting continued familial and moral responsibility.
