Sabhā-praveśa, Dāna, and the Courtly Convergence (सभा-प्रवेशः दानं च)

साज्येन पायसेनैव मधुना मिश्रितेन च । कूृसरेणाथ जीवन्त्या हविष्येण च सर्वश:,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तदनन्तर राजा युधिष्ठिरने घी और मधु मिलायी हुई खीर, खिचड़ी, जीवन्तिकाके साग, सब प्रकारके हविष्य, भाँति-भाँतिके भक्ष्य तथा फल, ईख आदि नाना प्रकारके चोष्य और बहुत अधिक पेय (शर्बत) आदि सामग्रियों-द्वारा दस हजार ब्राह्मणोंको भोजन कराकर उस सभा-भवनमें प्रवेश किया

sājyena pāyasenaiva madhunā miśriteṇa ca | kūsareṇātha jīvantyā haviṣyeṇa ca sarvaśaḥ ||

قال فايشَمبايانا: «يا جاناميجايا، ثم إن الملك يودهيشثيرا، بعدما أطعم عشرة آلافٍ من البراهمة پايَسَة ممزوجة بالسمن والعسل، وكِرْسَرَة، وخُضرة الجِيوانتي، وكل صنوف الهَفِشْيَة، ومعها ألوان الطعام والثمار وقصب السكر وسائر ما يُمضغ، وأشربةً كثيرة، دخل بعد ذلك قاعةَ المجلس.»
