Arjuna’s evacuation of Dvārakā, Vasudeva’s rites, and the caravan’s crisis
vaiśampāyana uvāca etad vacanam ājñāya vyāsasyāmitatejasaḥ
The verse highlights the ethical priority of heeding and correctly understanding the words of a realized authority (here, Vyāsa). In dharma-literature, wise counsel is not merely heard but comprehended (ājñāya) and then becomes the basis for proper conduct.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, marks a transition: after Vyāsa has spoken, the listeners/actors are described as having grasped his statement. This sets up the next action in the Mausala Parva sequence, where events proceed in accordance with that authoritative instruction.
