और उसके द्वारा बाणोंकी वर्षा करके अर्जुनने कर्णको आच्छादित कर दिया। इसके बाद भी वे लगातार बाणोंका प्रहार करते रहे। तब कर्णने तेज किये हुए पैने बाणोंसे अर्जुनके धनुषकी डोरी काट डाली ।। द्वितीयां च तृतीयां च चतुर्थी पठचमीं तथा । षष्ठीमथास्य चिच्छेद सप्तमीं च तथाष्टमीम्,उसने क्रमशः दूसरी, तीसरी, चौथी, पाँचवीं, छठी, सातवीं और आठवीं डोरी भी काट दी
sañjaya uvāca | atha tasya śaraughaiḥ pārthaḥ karṇaṃ samantataḥ āvṛṇot; sa cāpi satataṃ śarān prāhiṇot | tataḥ karṇaḥ tīkṣṇaiḥ śitaiḥ śaraiḥ pārthasya dhanurjyāṃ ciccheda || dvitīyāṃ ca tṛtīyāṃ ca caturthīṃ pañcamīṃ tathā | ṣaṣṭhīm athāsya ciccheda saptamīṃ ca tathāṣṭamīm ||
قال سَنْجَيا: إن أرجونا أمطر السهام حتى غطّى كارنا تغطيةً تامة، ومع ذلك لم يزل يضرب بلا انقطاع. عندئذٍ قطع كارنا، بسهامٍ حادّة مصقولة، وتر قوس أرجونا. ثم قطع تباعًا الوتر الثاني والثالث والرابع والخامس والسادس والسابع والثامن أيضًا—مُظهرًا مهارةً قتالية لا تلين وسط الصدام العنيف.
