भीममुग्र॑ महात्मानं त्र्यक्ष॑ शर्व॑ कपर्दिनम्‌

sañjaya uvāca—bhīmam ugraṃ mahātmānaṃ tryakṣaṃ śarvaṃ kapardinam | anye janā na paśyanti, tasya yoddhuṃ kutaḥ punaḥ || parantu tvaṃ sarvabhūtahitāya taṃ sthāṇusvarūpaṃ mahādevaṃ sākṣād bhagavantaṃ śivaṃ yuddhenaivārādhitavān | anyair api devaiḥ te varadānāni dattāni | tasmāt mahābāho pārtha, devādhidevaṃ triśūladharaṃ śaṅkaraṃ prasādya karṇaṃ tathā jahi, yathā vṛtravināśaka indro namuciṃ jaghāna | kuntīnandana, tava sadā kalyāṇaṃ bhavatu; yuddhe jayaṃ prāpnuhi ||

قال سانجيا: «ذلك الربّ المهيب، عظيم الروح—ذو العيون الثلاث، شَرْفَا، ذو الشعر المعقود—لا يطيق الكائن العادي حتى أن يراه؛ فكيف يُتحدَّث عن مقاتلته؟ ومع ذلك فقد عبدتَ ذلك المهاديڤا نفسه—شِڤا بعينه، الثابت الذي لا يتزعزع—بالحرب، ابتغاءَ خير جميع المخلوقات. وقد منحتك آلهةٌ أخرى أيضًا عطايا. لذلك، يا بارثا عظيم الساعد، وبنعمة شانكرا، ربّ الآلهة حامل الرمح الثلاثي (التريشولا)، اضرب كارنا صريعًا كما قتل إندرا، قاتل فِرِترا، ناموتشي. يا ابن كونتي، لتكن لك البركة أبدًا؛ وانل الظفر في هذه الحرب.»
