तथेति चोकक्त्वा त्वरिता: सम तेअ<र्जुनं जिघांसवो वीरतरा: समभ्ययु:
tatheti coktvā tvaritāḥ sametārjunaṁ jighāṁsavo vīratarāḥ samabhyayuḥ | śaraiś ca jaghnur yudhi taṁ mahārathā dhanañjayaṁ karṇa-nideśa-kāriṇaḥ ||
قالوا: «ليكن كذلك»، فانقضّ أولئك المحاربون الأشدّ بأسًا، متلهّفين مسرعين، معًا لقتل أرجونا. وإذ أطاعوا أمر كارنا، أمطر فرسانُ العربات العظامُ دهننجايا في ساحة القتال بوابلٍ من السهام—صورةٌ لولاءٍ منضبطٍ تحوّل إلى عنفٍ لا يلين تحت الضغط الأخلاقي للحرب.
