जल त्यक्त्वा प्रधावन्ति क्रोशमाना: परस्परम् । “अर्जुन! कितने ही योद्धा पानी लानेके लिये गये
jalaṁ tyaktvā pradhāvanti krośamānāḥ parasparam |
قال سنجيا: طرحوا الماء واندفعوا يركضون في كل جهة، يصيح بعضهم إلى بعض. ويُبرز هذا المشهد قسوة الحرب وعبثها: فحتى مساعي إنقاذ الأرواح تصل متأخرة، ويغلب الحزنُ الواجبَ؛ إذ إن الراجعين بالماء، حين رأوا ذويهم مطروحين بلا وعي، ألقوا الماء في مكانه وراحوا يهرولون نائحين يصرخون ألماً.
