उत्पत्योत्पत्य च मुहुर्मुहृ्तमिति चेति च । वृक्षाग्रेभ्य: स्थलेभ्यश्व निपतन्त्युतन्ति च

Transliteration

utpatyotpatya ca muhur muhur iti ceti ca | vṛkṣāgrebhyaḥ sthalebhyaś ca nipatanty utthanti ca ||

Translation

قالت البجعة: «مرةً بعد مرة يثبون، ومرةً بعد مرة يصرخون: “وا أسفاه، وا أسفاه!”—يسقطون من رؤوس الأشجار ومن الأرض، ثم ينهضون من جديد.» وفي مغزاه الأخلاقي يستحضر هذا السطرُ دورةَ القلق والخوف المتكرّرة التي تنشأ من السفه وسوء التقدير: فمن لا ثبات له ولا بصيرة يُقذَف بين وثباتٍ مفاجئة وسقطاتٍ مفاجئة، يندب كل مرة ثم يعيد النمط نفسه.
