Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
tam ārūḍhaṃ tu deveśaṃ tuṣṭuvuḥ paramarṣayaḥ

The verse highlights the ethical-religious principle that rightful power and cosmic order (dharma) are ultimately grounded in the divine; even the greatest sages respond with reverent praise, modeling humility and recognition of higher authority amid conflict.
Bhīṣma (the speaker) reports that the supreme sages extol the Lord of the gods at the moment he mounts/ascends his vehicle or seat, marking a solemn, approving acknowledgment of divine presence and action within the unfolding events.
