Educational Q&A

The verse frames heroic death in righteous battle as a ‘renowned destiny’ for a kṣatriya, urging the bereaved to restrain grief and uphold steadiness (dhairya) in the face of loss.

After Abhimanyu’s fall, Sañjaya reports and offers consolation: he tells Subhadrā not to mourn for her son and asks Draupadī to encourage Uttarā, emphasizing Abhimanyu’s honorable end and exalted posthumous state.
