Droṇa-parva, Adhyāya 77
अस्त्रमस्त्रेण सर्वेषामेतेषां मधुसूदन । मया द्रक्ष्यसि निर्भिन्नं जयद्रथवधैषिणा
astram astreṇa sarveṣām eteṣāṃ madhusūdana | mayā drakṣyasi nirbhinnaṃ jayadratha-vadhaiṣiṇā ||
يا مدهوسودانا، ستراني أحطّم أسلحة هؤلاء جميعًا بسلاحٍ يقابل السلاح، إذ قد عقدت العزم على قتل جَيَدْرَثَ. وفي هذا الغضب الذي يحرّكه النذر، لا يجعل أرجونا القتالَ استعراضًا للبأس، بل ضرورةً مثقلةً بالمعنى الأخلاقي، موصولةً بالواجب الذي أقسمه وبمطالب العدل في الحرب.
