स मोचयति सुप्रीतः शरण्य: शरणागतान् । जो सब प्रकारकी ग्रहबाधाओंसे पीड़ित हैं और सम्पूर्ण पापोंमें डूबे हुए हैं, वे भी यदि शरणमें आ जायँ तो शरणागतवत्सल भगवान् शिव अत्यन्त प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें पाप-तापसे मुक्त कर देते हैं
sa mocayati suprītaḥ śaraṇyaḥ śaraṇāgatān |
قال فياسا: إن الربَّ الذي هو ملجأُ الجميع، إذا سُرَّ سرورًا عظيمًا، أنقذَ من لجأ إليه. حتى أولئك الذين تُنهكهم شتّى أنواع البلاء—من أذى الكواكب والنجوم إلى قهر القوى الشيطانية—والغارقين في الذنوب كلها، إن أتوا طالبين الحمى، فإنهم بفضل شيفا، الإله المحبّ للملتجئين، يُعتَقون من الخطيئة والألم.
