tatra smāntarhitā vāco vyacaranta punaḥ punaḥ
هناك، مرّة بعد مرّة، كانت أصواتٌ—مستترةٌ عن العيون—تتحرّك ذهابًا وإيابًا، تتردّد على فترات، كأنها تُومئ إلى حضورٍ غير منظور وإلى ذلك الارتياب المقلق الذي يخيّم على ساحة القتال.
