तेषामेतादृशीं चेष्टां विज्ञाय पुरुषर्षभ: । उवाच वाक्यं बीभत्सुरुच्चै: संनादयन् दिश:,उनकी ऐसी अवस्था जानकर पुरुषप्रवर अर्जुनने सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंको प्रतिध्वनित करते हुए उच्चस्वरसे इस प्रकार कहा--
teṣām etādṛśīṁ ceṣṭāṁ vijñāya puruṣarṣabhaḥ | uvāca vākyaṁ bībhatsur uccaiḥ saṁnādayan diśaḥ ||
قال سنجيا: لما أدرك أرجونا—وهو أكرم الرجال—حالَ أولئك المحاربين وحركاتِهم، رفع صوته حتى دوّى في الجهات كلها، ثم قال هذه الكلمات. ويُصوِّر هذا الموضعُ كلامَ أرجونا على أنه موقفٌ مقصود ذو بعدٍ حربيٍّ وأخلاقيّ: ليس حديثاً عابراً، بل إعلانٌ ليشدّ أزرَ الحلفاء، ويواجه الخصوم، ويثبت العزم وسط اضطراب المعركة.
