नूनं बुद्धिविहीनश्चवाप्पसहायश्व मे सुतः । शत्रुभिव्य॑सित: पाप: कथं नु स जयेदरीन्,निश्चय ही मेरा पुत्र दुर्योधन बुद्धिहीन और असहाय है। शत्रुओंने उसे ठग लिया। अब वह पापी अपने शत्रुओंपर कैसे विजय पा सकता है?
nūnaṃ buddhivihīnaś ca vā apasahāyaś ca me sutaḥ | śatrubhir vyasitaḥ pāpaḥ kathaṃ nu sa jayed arīn ||
قال ڤايو: «لا ريب أنّ ابني قد خَلَا من التمييز، وهو الآن قائمٌ بلا سند. وقد خُدِعَ وأُحكِمَت عليه حِيَلُ أعدائه؛ فكيف لذاك الآثم أن يظفر بالنصر على خصومه؟»
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical and practical necessity of buddhi (discernment) and sahāya (support). A leader who is morally compromised (pāpa) and strategically deluded becomes vulnerable to deception and cannot secure righteous or lasting victory.
Vāyudeva laments the condition of his son Duryodhana, judging him to be foolish and unsupported, and believes that enemies have deceived and cornered him; he questions how Duryodhana can now overcome his foes in the ongoing war context.
