Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical weight of counsel and leadership in war: a commander’s words can mobilize allies and set actions in motion, implying responsibility for consequences and the need for discernment in following martial directives.

Sanjaya reports to King Dhritarashtra that Susharman, the Trigarta ruler, after hearing Drona’s statement, responds immediately—speaking with his brothers beside him—signaling coordinated action among the Kaurava-aligned allies.
