Nārāyaṇāstra-utpātaḥ — Aśvatthāman’s Rallying Roar after Droṇa’s Fall (द्रोणपर्व, अध्याय १६७)
अथान्यद् धनुरादाय धर्मपुत्रो महारथ: । हार्दिक्यं दशभिर्बाणैर्बाह्लोरुससि चार्पयत्
athānyad dhanur ādāya dharmaputro mahārathaḥ | hārdikyaṃ daśabhir bāṇair bāhlor asasi cārpayat ||
قال سنجيا: ثم إن ابن الدهرما، ذلك المقاتل العظيم على العربة، تناول قوسًا آخر فضرب الهارديكي بعشرة سهام، وطعن باهليكا أيضًا في صدره—دافعًا المعركة إلى الأمام بقوة حازمة موصولة بالواجب.
संजय उवाच
Even the dharma-minded Yudhiṣṭhira must act decisively in war when duty demands it; the verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma—measured resolve and responsibility in the face of conflict, rather than personal hatred.
Sañjaya reports that Yudhiṣṭhira takes up another bow and shoots Hārdikya with ten arrows, and also strikes Bāhlīka in the chest, indicating an intense exchange of missile warfare among leading chariot-fighters.
