अब्र॒ुवन् सैनिकास्तत्र दृष्टवा द्रोणस्य विक्रमम् । अद्य राजा धाररराष्ट्र: कृतार्थों वै भविष्यति,वहाँ द्रोणाचार्यका पराक्रम देख कौरव-सैनिक कहने लगे, “आज राजा दुर्योधन अवश्य कृतार्थ हो जायँगे
abrūvan sainikās tatra dṛṣṭvā droṇasya vikramam | adya rājā dhṛtarāṣṭraḥ kṛtārtho vai bhaviṣyati ||
قال سنجيا: لما رأى جنود الكورافا هناك بأسَ درونا الجبار قالوا: «اليوم سيُقضى لملك دِهريتاراشترا مراده لا محالة». وتكشف هذه الكلمة كيف يُقرأ الظفر في ساحة القتال سريعًا بوصفه تصديقًا لآمال الحاكم—غير أن هذا «التحقق» تظل تظله أخلاقيًا ظلالُ العنف والتحيز اللذين يسوقان الحرب.
