संजय उवाच एवं सम्भाषमाणानां बहु तत् तज्जनाधिप | पाण्डवानामनीकानि समदृश्यन्त संयुगे,संजय कहते हैं--राजन्! इस प्रकार जब कर्ण और दुर्योधन परस्पर बहुत-सी बातें कर रहे थे, उसी समय युद्धस्थलमें पाण्डवोंकी सेनाएँ दिखायी दीं
sañjaya uvāca | evaṃ sambhāṣamāṇānāṃ bahu tat-taj-janādhipa | pāṇḍavānām anīkāni samadṛśyanta saṃyuge ||
قال سنجيا: أيها الملك، وبينما كان كارنا ودوريودhana يتجاذبان أطراف الحديث طويلاً في أمور شتى، إذا بصفوف الباندافا القتالية تبدو للعيان في ميدان الحرب في تلك اللحظة ذاتها.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the shift from deliberation to action: in war, counsel and debate must ultimately yield to the realities of duty (kṣatriya-dharma) and the unfolding of events. It also highlights Sañjaya’s role as a truthful witness, anchoring ethical reflection in accurate reportage.
Sañjaya reports to the king that as Karṇa and Duryodhana are engaged in extended discussion, the Pāṇḍava battle-formations become visible on the battlefield—signaling imminent engagement and a new phase in the conflict.
