Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s advance toward Droṇa and the Sātyaki–Karṇa confrontation
ki nu vakṣyasi rājānaṃ dharmaputraṃ yudhiṣṭhiram | ki kurvāṇo mayā saṅkhye hato bhūriśravā raṇe ||
Even in war, actions are measured against dharma and public moral accountability; Bhūriśravā frames the deed as something that must be defensible before Yudhiṣṭhira, a symbol of righteousness.
Bhūriśravā challenges his opponent with a pointed question: how will you justify to King Yudhiṣṭhira that you killed Bhūriśravā in battle while he was occupied with something else, implying an unethical or dishonorable killing.
