धृष्टद्युम्नस्य द्रोणाभिमुख्यं तथा सात्यकि-कर्ण-समागमः

Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s advance toward Droṇa and the Sātyaki–Karṇa confrontation

अर्जुन उवाच व्यक्त हि जीर्यमाणो<5पि बुद्धि जरयते नर:,अर्जुन बोले--प्रभो! यह स्पष्ट है कि मनुष्यके बूढ़े होनेके साथ-साथ उसकी बुद्धि भी बूढ़ी हो जाती है। तुमने इस समय जो कुछ कहा है, वह सब व्यर्थ है। तुम सम्पूर्ण इन्द्रियोंके नियन्ता भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णको और मुझ पाण्डुपुत्र अर्जुनको भी जानते हो, तो भी हमारी निन्‍्दा करते हो

arjuna uvāca vyaktaṃ hi jīryamāṇo 'pi buddhiṃ jarayate naraḥ |

قال أرجونا: «إنه لَبيِّنٌ أن الإنسان إذا شاخ شاخت معه بصيرته وضعفت. لذلك فما نطقتَ به آنفًا كلامٌ عبثٌ لا طائل منه. أنت تعرف كريشنا، ربَّ الحواسِّ ومُدبِّرَها، وتعرفني أنا أيضًا—أرجونا ابنَ باندو—ومع ذلك لا تزال تتكلم بما هو كالتقريع لنا.»
