Duryodhana’s Appeal to Karna — The Kripa–Karna Dialogue

The verse highlights the kshatriya arena where reputation, readiness, and mastery are proven under pressure. Ethically, it underscores how war tests not only skill but also endurance and resolve, as conflict advances through force rather than dialogue.
Karna describes Bhimasena launching a direct, heavy volley of arrows at him. Karna is depicted as armored and fully prepared for a formal chariot-to-chariot duel, yet Bhima’s sustained missile-rain drives the intensity of the encounter.
