The Slaying of Jayadratha
Sunset Vow and Curse-Condition
hārdikyaṁ yodhavarya ca manye prāpta dhanañjayam | na hi me jāyate trāso dṛṣṭvā sainyāny anekaśaḥ ||
The verse highlights steadiness of mind amid overwhelming martial spectacle: even when confronted with vast forces, one may remain unshaken by assessing the situation with clarity rather than panic.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Hārdikya and a foremost warrior have engaged or reached Arjuna, and he remarks that the sight of many troop-formations does not produce fear in him.
