Droṇa’s Conditional Boon: The Plan to Capture Yudhiṣṭhira (द्रोणेन युधिष्ठिरग्रहणोपायः)

क्रूर: सर्वविनाशाय कालो5सौ नातिवर्तते । युधिष्ठटिरको धर्मका स्वाभाविक फल प्राप्त हुआ है, किंतु मेरे पुत्रोंकी उसका फल नहीं मिल रहा है। सबका विनाश करनेके लिये प्राप्त हुआ यह क्रूर काल बीत नहीं रहा है ।। अन्यथा चिन्तिता हार्था नरैस्तात मनस्विभि:

krūraḥ sarva-vināśāya kālo 'sau nātivartate | yudhiṣṭhiraḥ dharmakaḥ svābhāvika-phala-prāptaḥ, kintu me putrāṇāṃ tasya phalaṃ naiva labhyate | sarvasya vināśaṃ kartum prāptaḥ ayaṃ krūraḥ kālo na vyatīyate || anyathā cintitā hy arthā narais tāta manasvibhiḥ |

قال فايشَمبايانا: «إنّ هذا الزمان القاسي، الذي جاء ليجلب الفناء للجميع، لا يمضي. لقد نال يودهيشثيرا—الثابت على الدارما—الثمرة الطبيعية للبرّ، غير أنّ أبنائي لا ينالون جزاءها. هذا الزمان الغاشم، القادم لإهلاك الكل، لا يبرح مكانه. ولولا ذلك، يا عزيز، لكانت العواقب التي تصوّرها ذوو الهمم السامية على غير ما صارت إليه.»
