भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
उष्णीषैश्व तथा चित्रैविंप्रविद्धेस्ततस्तत: । विचिन्रैर्बाणवषैश्व॒ जातरूपपरिष्कृतै:
sañjaya uvāca | uṣṇīṣaiś ca tathā citrair vipraviddhais tatas tataḥ | vicitrair bāṇavarṣaiś ca jātarūpa-pariṣkṛtaiḥ ||
قال سنجيا: «هنا وهناك كانت مبعثرة أغطيةُ رأسٍ مزخرفةٌ كثيرة—عمائم وما شاكلها—قُذِفت في غمرة الاضطراب. وكالماء يُسكَب صفائحَ متتابعة، انهمرت وابلًا سهامٌ شتّى مُحلّاةٌ بالذهب. فبدت ساحةُ القتال مفروشةً ببقايا فاخرة من كبرياء الملوك وزينة الحرب، وقد غدَت حطامًا تحت عنف الحرب الذي لا يُحابِي أحدًا.»
