भीष्मरक्षण-उद्योगः, शिखण्डि-विवर्जनं, सर्वतोभद्र-व्यूहः

पूर्णायतविसृष्टेन सम्यक्‌ प्रणिहितेन च । जन्नुदेशे समासाद्य विकर्ण समताडयत्‌,इसके बाद उसने धनुषको पूर्णरूपसे खींचकर उसपर उत्तम रीतिसे बाणोंका संधान करके विकर्णके गलेकी हँसलीमें गहरी चोट पहुँचायी

pūrṇāyatavisṛṣṭena samyak praṇihitena ca | jannudeśe samāsādya vikarṇaṃ samatāḍayat ||

قال سانجيا: شدَّ القوس إلى أقصى مداه، وأطلق سهماً مُحكماً مُصيباً بعزمٍ ثابت، فأصاب فيكارنا إصابةً شديدة في موضع العنق.
