समेतानां च समरे जिगीषूणां परस्परम्‌ | बभूव तुमुल: शब्द: सिंहानामिव नर्दताम्‌

Transliteration

sametānāṃ ca samare jigīṣūṇāṃ parasparam | babhūva tumulaḥ śabdaḥ siṃhānām iva nardatām ||

Translation

قال سنجيا: لما اجتمع المحاربون في ساحة الوغى، وكلٌّ منهم يتطلع إلى قهر الآخر، ارتفع دويٌّ هائل—كزئير الأسود. وكان في ذلك تصويرٌ لعزمٍ ضارٍ تدفعه رغبة الظفر، في حربٍ تتصادم فيها الطموحات والواجبات بثقلٍ أخلاقيٍّ جسيم.
