Adhyāya 69: Strategic duels under Bhīṣma’s command

तस्य माहात्म्ययोगेन योगेनात्ममयेन च । धृता: पाण्डुसुता राजन्‌ जयश्लैषां भविष्यति,उनके माहात्म्ययोगसे तथा आत्मस्वरूपयोगसे समस्त पाण्डव सुरक्षित हैं। राजन! इसीलिये इनकी विजय होगी

tasya māhātmyayogena yogenātmamayena ca | dhṛtāḥ pāṇḍusutā rājan jayaśleṣāṁ bhaviṣyati ||

قال بهيشما: «أيها الملك، إن أبناء باندو ثابتون، مسنودون ومحفوظون بيوغا العظمة لديه، وباليوغا التي يُدرَك فيها الآتمان على أنه الكل. لذلك فالنصر لا محالة سيلتصق بهم.»

Victory is portrayed as the fruit of spiritual and moral backing: when a side is sustained by the ‘yoga of greatness’ and by Self-centered realization (ātmamaya-yoga), it gains steadiness and protection, and success naturally ‘attaches’ to it.
