श्वेत चापि तथा भीष्म: शरौघै: समवाकिरत्‌ । श्वेतने अपने असंख्य बाणोंका जाल-सा बिछाकर भीष्मको ढक दिया। तब भीष्मने भी वैतपर बाण-समूहोंकी वर्षा की

sañjaya uvāca | śvetaś cāpi tathā bhīṣmaḥ śaraughaiḥ samavākirat |

قال سنجيا: وكذلك فعل شڤيتا، فأمطر بهيشما بوابل كثيف من السهام حتى كأنه غطّاه بشبكة. غير أن بهيشما لم يَهِن، وردّ بأن أمطر بدوره كُتَلًا من السهام—صورةً لعزمٍ قتالي ثابت في واجب ساحة المعركة.
