हे अर्जुन! उनके ऊपर अनुग्रह करनेके लिये उनके अन्तःकरणमें स्थित हुआ मैं स्वयं ही उनके अज्ञानजनित अन्धकारको प्रकाशमय तत्त्वज्ञानरूप दीपकके द्वारा नष्ट कर देता हूँ
teṣām evānukampārtham aham ajñānajaṁ tamaḥ | nāśayāmy ātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā ||
رحمةً بهم، أنا—الساكن في أعماق كيانهم—أُبدِّد ظلمة الجهل المولودة من الأوَهام بمصباح المعرفة الحقّة المتلألئ. أخلاقيًا، تُصوِّر الآية التحوّل الداخلي نعمةً: فالإله لا يكتفي بالأمر بالفعل القويم، بل يُنير الضمير من الداخل لتغدو البصيرة والدارما ممكنتين.
