भीष्मपतनविषये धृतराष्ट्रस्य प्रश्नाः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Questions on Bhīṣma’s Fall
शृणु तत् पृथिवीपाल मा च शोके मन: कृथा: । दिष्टमेतत् पुरा नूनमिदमेव नराधिप
śṛṇu tat pṛthivīpāla mā ca śoke manaḥ kṛthāḥ | diṣṭam etat purā nūnam idam eva narādhipa ||
قال سَنْجَايَا: «استمع، يا حامي الأرض؛ ولا تُلقِ بقلبك في الحزن. يا سيد الناس، إن هذه العاقبة بعينها قد قُدِّرت منذ القدم لا محالة».
संजय उवाच
Sañjaya urges the king to restrain grief and recognize the working of diṣṭa—what is ordained—framing the coming war-events as part of an already-set cosmic order rather than a merely personal catastrophe.
Sañjaya addresses the king and prepares to recount what he has witnessed (and, by special insight, comprehended), first consoling him: ‘Listen; do not grieve; this outcome was destined long ago.’
