ततः प्रदक्षिणं कृत्वा रथेन रथिनां वर: । शयानं भरतमश्रेष्ठं सर्वशस्त्रभूृतां वरम्‌

Transliteration

tataḥ pradakṣiṇaṁ kṛtvā rathena rathināṁ varaḥ | śayānaṁ bharataśreṣṭhaṁ sarvaśastrabhṛtāṁ varam avidhyat pṛthivīṁ pārthaḥ pārśve bhīṣmasya dakṣiṇe ||

Translation

قال سنجيا: ثم إن بارثا أرجونا، خيرَ فرسانِ العربات، ساق عرَبته في طوافٍ توقيريّ، وبمحاذاة جنبِ بهيشما الأيمن أصاب الأرضَ بسهم. وهكذا، وهو يكرّم الشيخَ الساقط على فراش السهام دون أن يخرج عن مقتضيات الحرب، أجرى أرجونا الماءَ لبهیشما—فعلٌ يجمع بين براعة القتال وواجب البرّ والرحمة تجاه خصمٍ جليل القدر.
