Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā

Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

त्वग्घ्राणश्रोत्रचक्षूंषि रसना वाक्‌ च संयता: । विशुद्धं च मनो यस्य बुद्धिश्चाव्यभिचारिणी,जिसकी त्वचा, नासिका, कान, आँख, रसना और वाक्‌--ये इन्द्रियाँ वशमें हों, मन शुद्ध हो और बुद्धि एक निश्चयपर स्थिर रहनेवाली हो तथा जिसके मनको उपर्युक्त इन्द्रियादिरूप आठ अग्नियाँ संतप्त न करती हों, वह पुरुष उस कल्याणमय ब्रह्मको प्राप्त होता है, जिससे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई नहीं है

tvag-ghrāṇa-śrotra-cakṣūṃṣi rasanā vāk ca saṃyatāḥ | viśuddhaṃ ca mano yasya buddhis cāvyabhicāriṇī ||

قال فايُو: «من كفَّ جوارحه—اللمس (الجلد)، والشمّ (الأنف)، والسمع (الأذنان)، والبصر (العينان)—ومعها اللسان والكلام؛ وطهَّر عقله؛ وثبت تمييزه (البُدّهي) على عزمٍ واحد لا يتزعزع—فإنه يبلغ ذلك البرهمان المبارك، الذي لا شيء أسمى منه.»
