Discourse on Desire, Possessiveness, and Ritual Duty
बाह्यान्तराणां शत्रूणां स्वभाव॑ पश्य भारत | यज्ञ पश्यति तद् भूतं मुच्यते स महाभयात्,भारत! बाहरी और भीतरी शत्रुओंके स्वभावको देखिये-समझिये (ये मायामय होनेके कारण मभिथ्या हैं, ऐसा निश्चय कीजिये)। जो मायिक पदार्थोको ममत्वकी दृष्टिसे नहीं देखता, वह महान् भयसे छुटकारा पा जाता है
bāhyāntarāṇāṃ śatrūṇāṃ svabhāvaṃ paśya bhārata | yajñaḥ paśyati tad bhūtaṃ mucyate sa mahābhayāt ||
قال فايُو: «يا بهاراتا، تأمّل وافهم طبيعة الأعداء في الخارج والداخل. من رأى الموجودات كما هي حقًّا—من غير نظرة التملّك التي تصنع “لي”—تحرّر من الخوف العظيم».
वायुदेव उवाच
Discern the nature of both outer opponents and inner afflictions, and drop possessiveness toward phenomena; this non-attachment dissolves the ‘great fear’ that arises from clinging and misperception.
Vāyudeva addresses a ‘Bhārata’ figure and gives a concise instruction: recognize the character of enemies within and without, and cultivate a vision that does not appropriate the world as ‘mine,’ leading to liberation from fear.
