Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
तस्मिन् वक्षे तथाभूते कोटरेषु चिरोषित: । न जहाति शुको वासं तस्य भक्त्या वनस्पते:,उस वृक्षके खोंखलेमें बहुत दिनोंसे एक तोता निवास करता था। उसका उस वृक्षके प्रति बड़ा प्रेम हो गया था, इसलिये वह उसके सूखनेपर भी वहाँका निवास छोड़ नहीं रहा था
tasmin vakṣe tathābhūte koṭareṣu ciroṣitaḥ | na jahāti śuko vāsaṃ tasya bhaktyā vanaspateḥ ||
قال بهيشما: لما آلَتِ الشجرةُ إلى تلك الحال، كان في أجوافها ببغاءٌ قد أقام فيها زمنًا طويلًا، فلم يترك مسكنه. وبسبب المحبة والتعلّق بتلك الشجرة، ظلّ فيها حتى وهي تذوي—مُجسِّدًا وفاءً وامتنانًا لا يهجران موضع السند في أوقات الانحدار.
