नतासां रक्षणं शक््यं कर्तु पुंसां कथंचन
natāsāṃ rakṣaṇaṃ śakyaṃ kartuṃ puṃsāṃ kathaṃcana
قال بيشما: «لا سبيل للرجال، على أي وجه كان، إلى أن يضمنوا الحماية لمن استسلموا ووضعوا أنفسهم تحت رعاية غيرهم. إن هذا القول يبرز حقيقة أخلاقية قاسية: فمجرد الجهد البشري وحسن النية كثيرًا ما لا يكفيان لضمان السلامة حين يصير المرء معتمدًا اعتمادًا كليًّا؛ لذا ينبغي أن يُعمل المرء التواضع واليقظة وروح المساءلة، لا الثقة المتعجرفة.»
