Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses
tāḥ kāmalubdhāḥ pramadāḥ prabādhanate narān sadā | krodhaṁ kāmasya deveśaḥ sahāyaṁ cāsṛjat prabhuḥ ||

Unchecked desire (kāma) destabilizes the mind and social conduct, and anger (krodha) commonly arises as its accomplice; therefore restraint and discernment are essential for dharma.
In Bhīṣma’s didactic discourse in the Anuśāsana Parva, he explains how desire operates in human life and how it is reinforced by anger, warning about the moral and psychological consequences.
