अभ्यद्रवन्त देवांस्ते सहस्नाणि दशैव हि । ततस्तैरदिता देवा: शरणं वासवं ययु:

Transliteration

abhyadravant devāṁs te sahasrāṇi daśaiva hi | tatas tair aditā devāḥ śaraṇaṁ vāsavaṁ yayuḥ ||

Translation

قال بهيشما: اندفع أولئك المهاجمون على الآلهة—وكانوا حقًّا عشرة آلاف. فلما أُرهقت الآلهة بمضايقتهم وغُلبت عليهم، فرّت وهي شديدة الكرب، والتمست الملجأ عند فاسافا (إندرا). وتؤكد الحادثة خُلُقًا يتكرر في المهابهارتا: حين تُساءُ استعمالُ القوة لتعذيب الآخرين، يلتمس المظلومون حمايةً مشروعة، وتُختبر القيادة بواجبها في الإيواء وإعادة النظام.
