सुवर्णवर्णो हेमाड़ो वराड्रश्वन्दनाड़दी | वीरहा विषम: शून्यो घृताशीरचलश्चल:

Bhīṣma uvāca: suvarṇavarṇo hemāṇḍo varāṅgaś candanāṅgadī | vīrahā viṣamaḥ śūnyo ghṛtāśīr acalaś calaḥ ||

قال بهيشما: «هو ذهبيُّ اللون، متلألئٌ كالذهب، ذو أعضاءٍ في غاية السموّ، متزيّنٌ بطيب الصندل وبالأساور. هو قاتلُ الأعداء الأشدّاء، لا نظير له، ومع ذلك فهو متعالٍ عن كل وصفٍ يحدّه. هو رقيقُ الرحمة بمن يلتمس الملجأ، ثابتُ العزم لا يتزعزع، وهو أيضًا سريعُ الحركة — يسري في كل مكانٍ كالريح».
