ईशान: प्राणद: प्राणो ज्येष्ठ: श्रेष्ठ: प्रजापति: । हिरण्यगर्भो भूगर्भो माधवों मधुसूदन:

īśānaḥ prāṇadaḥ prāṇo jyeṣṭhaḥ śreṣṭhaḥ prajāpatiḥ | hiraṇyagarbho bhūgarbho mādhavo madhusūdanaḥ ||

قال بهيشما: إنه إيشانا، السيدُ الحاكم الذي يضبط أمرَ جميع الكائنات؛ واهبُ نَفَسِ الحياة وهو نَفَسُ الحياة ذاته. وباعتباره العلّة الأولى فهو الأقدم، وباعتباره الكمال الأعلى فهو الأفضل. وهو براجاباتي، ربُّ الخلائق. وهو هيرانياگربها، الساري في «البيضة الكونية الذهبية» كمصدرٍ للخلق؛ وهو بهوگربها، الذي يحمل الأرض في رحمِه. وهو ماذافا، قرينُ لاكشمي؛ وهو مدهوسودانا، قاتلُ الشيطان مدهو.
