आदि पर्व — अध्याय ८३: ययाति-इन्द्र-संवादः तथा अष्टक-प्रश्नः
Yayāti–Indra Dialogue and Aṣṭaka’s Inquiry
वैशम्पायन उवाच अन्योन्यमेवमुक्त्वा तु सम्प्रहस्य च ते मिथ: । जगाम भार्गवी वेश्म तथ्यमित्यवजग्मुषी,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! वे दोनों आपसमें इस प्रकार बातें करके हँस पड़ीं। देवयानीको प्रतीत हुआ कि शर्मिष्ठा ठीक कहती है; अत: वह चुपचाप महलमें चली गयी
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: anyonyam evam uktvā tu samprahasya ca te mithaḥ | jagāma Bhārgavī veśma tathyam ity avajagmuṣī ||
قال فيشامبايانا: وبعد أن تكلّمتا إحداهما إلى الأخرى على هذا النحو، ضحكتا معًا. وأمّا البهارغفية (ديفاياني)، إذ رأت أن قول شارميشثا حقّ، عادت إلى القصر صامتةً.
