Jaratkāru’s Conditional Marriage Vow and Vāsuki’s Offer (जरत्कारु-विवाह-नियमः)

शमीक उवाच जानाम्युग्रप्रभाव॑ं त्वां तात सत्यगिरं तथा । नानृतं चोक्तपूर्व ते नैतन्मिथ्या भविष्यति,शमीकने कहा--बेटा! मैं जानता हूँ तुम्हारा प्रभाव उग्र है, तुम बड़े सत्यवादी हो, तुमने पहले भी कभी झूठी बात नहीं कही है; अतः यह शाप मिथ्या नहीं होगा

śamīka uvāca | jānāmy ugraprabhāvaṁ tvāṁ tāta satyagiraṁ tathā | nānṛtaṁ coktapūrvaṁ te naitān mithyā bhaviṣyati ||

قال شاميكا: «يا بُنيّ، إني لأعلم أن بأسك شديد، وأن لسانك لسان صدق. ما عُهِدَ عنك كذبٌ قط؛ فلن تكون هذه اللعنة باطلةً ولا هباءً.»
