संशयो वह्लिरागच्छेद् दृष्टं वायोर्निवर्तनम् । मृत्यु्नों बिलवासिभ्यो बिले स्याजन्नात्र संशय:,आग यहाँतक आयेगी, इसमें संदेह है; क्योंकि वायुके वेगसे अग्निका दूसरी ओर पलट जाना भी देखा गया है। परंतु बिलमें तो उसके भीतर रहनेवाले जीवोंसे हमारी मृत्यु होनेमें कोई संशय ही नहीं है
saṁśayo vahnir āgacched dṛṣṭaṁ vāyor nivartanam | mṛtyur no bilavāsibhyo bile syāj nâtra saṁśayaḥ ||
قال فَيْشَمْبايَنَة: «قد يبلغنا الحريق أيضًا—وفي الأمر مجالٌ للشك—إذ قد شوهدت الريح الشديدة تردّ اللهب إلى الجهة المقابلة. أمّا دخول الجحر فلا شكّ فيه البتّة: فهناك ستأتينا المنيّة يقينًا على أيدي المخلوقات الساكنة في داخله.»
