उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः

Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse

तमग्निममरश्रेष्ठ: प्रदहन्तमितस्तत: । वारिणा मेघजेनेन्द्र:ः शमयामास सर्वश:,तब देवराज इन्द्रने इधर-उधर सबको जलाती हुई उस आगको मेघोंके द्वारा जल बरसाकर सब ओरसे बुझा दिया

tam agnim amaraśreṣṭhaḥ pradahantam itas tataḥ | vāriṇā meghajenendraḥ śamayāmāsa sarvaśaḥ ||

ثم إن إندرا، سيدَ الآلهة وأفضلَ الخالدين، لما رأى تلك النار تشتعل وتلتهم كل شيء في كل الجهات، أنزل مطرًا من مياهٍ وُلدت من السحاب فأطفأها إطفاءً تامًّا من كل جانب.
